Amy Teme and two business owners

Since May, a number of workshops and Masterclasses have been delivered for Wyre residents looking to start a business, and existing businesses though the Small Business Academy including:

The Meta Ads Masterclass held at the end of May, and delivered by Meta Ads specialist Nikki Hesford, businesses learned how to create lead generation campaigns that would bring leads into their business almost immediately.

Something of a lightbulb moment for businesses, upon seeing that they could obtain name, email, phone number, and other bespoke business information from potential customers and these would land within hours of setting up the campaigns! A number of Wyre businesses attended and benefitted greatly.

This was then followed by an Introduction to Content Creation delivered by local Content whizz Amy Mantle – where businesses learned how to create engaging content, repurpose used content and better understand what social algorithms are looking for when prioritising content from businesses.

In June the brilliant John Woodruffe, Leadership and Scale Up Specialist delivered an intensive half day Leadership and Management Masterclass which was enjoyed by HelpPKE CIC – this was the first in a 2 part series that will conclude on 14th August 2025, so get your space if you are a Wyre employer!

Finally, Jean Atkinson delivered a wonderful SEO Masterclass that was enjoyed by a number of Wyre growth businesses including ARK Heating and Plumbing, Rothwell Enterprises and Here we Glow.

Nikki also presented at Wyre Council’s Masterclass on Tendering for Public Sector contracts, where thirty Fylde Coast businesses, many of them Wyre SME’s, listened to and asked questions of procurement officers. The businesses are now looking to sign up for future Bid and Funding writing Masterclasses. Meantime some are now receiving 1-2-1 support for their business so they are ready to supply, and inevitably grow their business.

There’s a jam packed schedule of Masterclasses for businesses to take advantage of during July – ranging from multiple Marketing options from basic to expert levels, and a not-to-be-missed ‘Master Networking’ delivered by the Queen of Networking and local businesswoman Karen Tems. If you are someone who finds themselves loitering around the coffee machine looking at your phone, or perhaps you immediately gravitate to the comfort of people you already know at a networking event…then this is for you!
